The Eastern Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) on Friday donated four computers and their accessories and seven swivel chairs to some departments at the ministries in Koforidua.
The donation followed a visit by the out-going Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, to departments and agencies sometime ago to familiarize with members of staff and to know at first hand the conditions under which they work.
The Attorney General’s (AG’s) Department received the seven swivel chairs, whilst the Labour Department and the Education unit of the African Faith Tabernacle Church, received two sets of computers each.
Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, who made the presentations, said he was touched by the plight of the departments which were working under difficult conditions, hence his decision to use part of the RCC resources to support them.
He recounted how the AG’s Department was using wooden chairs to work in congested rooms and the Labour Office using old manual type-writers for their correspondence.
Mr Ofosu-Ampofo expressed the hope that the items would go a long way to boost their morale.
Mrs Emily Addo-Okyireh, the Regional State Attorney, who received the items on behalf of the department, thanked the Minister for delivering on his promise and assured that the items would be put to good use.
