The Ashanti West Region of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has assured the management of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) of a stable power supply to enhance quality healthcare delivery.
Mr. George Amoah, the General Manager of the Ashanti West Region of ECG, said many people depended on KATH for treatment, hence, the ECG must provide the hospital with a stable power supply to save lives and promote operational efficiency.
He was speaking at a meeting to introduce the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the KATH, Dr Paa Kwasi Baidoo, to the management of the ECG in the Ashanti West Region.
Mr. Amoah said: “Komfo Anokye is one of the key stakeholders that renders essential services to millions of people, hence, our unwavering commitment to ensuring stable power supply to the hospital.”
He indicated that supplying the KATH with uninterrupted power supply was paramount as ECG was mandated to do so.
This formed part of providing quality, reliable and safe electricity services to support the socioeconomic development of the country.
Mr. Amoah stressed ECG’s commitment to prioritizing the power supply needs of KATH as a way of contributing its quota to healthcare delivery in the region and the country at large.
Dr Paa Kwasi Baidoo, the new CEO of the KATH, applauded the management of ECG for improved power supply to the hospital and consistently prioritising the hospital’s power supply needs anytime the national grid had a challenge.
The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital is one of the four teaching hospitals in Ghana.
It also serves as a referral centre for 10 out of the 16 regions of the country.
