The District Chief Executive of Ajumako/Enyan/Essiam in the Central Region says the presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party has become insignificant in the region largely because of the unprecedented achievements of the NDC government.Peter Light Koomson said Nana Addo’s popularity in the region has so plummeted that "empty chairs and canopies greet him" wherever he goes in the region.According to him, the situation was so bad that on one occasion students of a private school had to be conscripted to form a respectable crowd to follow the NPP flag-bearer on his tour.Mr Koomson was speaking at the meet the press series organized by the Information Ministry in Accra, Tuesday. He said contrary to the impression being created that the National Health Insurance Scheme is collapsing in the region, the scheme is rather growing in leaps and bounds. He said figures being churned out under the scheme do not show an ailing or moribund scheme, accusing anti-NDC media houses of creating the impression that all is not well in the region. The DCE said President Mills is still in control, with the Central Regional Minister Ama Benyiwa Doe working assiduously and putting all DCEs at work at all times.Chronicling the history of parties in opposition, Peter Light Koomson accused the NPP as being the most intolerant party in opposition. He said the Ghanaian electorate were very discerning and would not be deceived by an intolerant opposition.Eulogizing the personality of the president, Koomson said it was not for nothing that Ghanaians gave President John Mills the title ‘Asomdwee hene’ adding, Ghanaians would go for a president who detests hate speeches and a president who knows that people matter.
