This Friday, April 26 will be no different as flocks of Accra’s trendsetters descend on the Damba Lounge of the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel to dance the night away under the command of the turntable titan William Nanka Bruce aka DJ Blow.
The entire event has been built around the nostalgic experience of the “old school” eras of music from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.
Commenting on the upcoming event, the event organizer, Mr. Edwin Baffour said, “One will find it hard to acknowledge that we are a few weeks away from the half year mark of 2013 already. We are at the end of April and as the rain showers soon begin across the country we continue in a tradition of events that mark the timeline of our years on this side of the world.
The end of the month for the past two years, specifically the last Friday has now become associated with the observance of a sacred rite for many discerning residents of the metropolis. For many mature fun lovers the Mirror Ball is an iconic entertainment event not to be missed”.
“This month is themed “Freestyle Friday” and guests can flaunt their personal styles and fashion sense as they kick off the weekend with an exhilarating personal treat. If at the New Year you resolved to honour yourself with a better quality of life then a few hours on the dance floor in a beautiful ambience, a stone’s throw away from the Atlantic Ocean cannot be far from your ideal evening. Kalahari bitters will also start your night off right with a refreshing cocktail mix on arrival if you are among the first fifty guests”, Mr. Edwin Baffour added.
He concluded that, “In line with the innovation that has ensured the Mirror Ball its distinguished place among events in Ghana, this Friday, DJ Blow will introduce a short session of classic slow jams that will make you remember any “lai momo” or “old flame” as the local parlance goes.
This will be your perfect chance to be as close to that lady or gentleman you fancy without raising red flags. Not even the Statistical service can tell you how many children were born as a result of these classic love ballads that have melted hearts for decades.
Advance tickets can be bought at the front desk of La Palm.
