Prophetess Lesley Osei, wife of a popular social media evangelist and founder of Kingdom Full Tabernacle International Ministries, Apostle Dominis Osei, has shared what most people consider her to be at first glance.
According to her, the majority of Ghanaians, including her husband’s family, mistook her appearance, saying their son had married a swagger because she doesn’t look Ghanaian.
She said this while addressing a statement that she does not look Ghanaian in an interview on Joy Prime’s Changes show with Roselyn Felli.
“Everyone says that I don’t look Ghanaian; everyone says he’s gone to marry ‘Akata Ni,’” she said funnily in the Akan language.”
Although she was born in America with her siblings, she had visited Ghana several times before marriage because her parents are equally Ghanaians and have always been trained to speak the local dialect.
“I was born in America but came to live in Ghana for like 4 years. So I speak it, live it, and I write it. My mom doesn’t speak to any of us in English. So we’ve all been raised up in that, and we were coming to Ghana often,” the prophetess furthered.
In contrast, her husband does not see her as such because he knew her when she was younger.
“When you first met her, did you think she was ‘Akata?’ Roselyn quizzed
“Oh no! I knew her when she was young. She was like 10 years old. She’s my friend’s sister, so I used to see her anytime I met my friend.”
After many years, the two met again, and she had grown into a lady. Apostle Osei decided to propose marriage to her, and they eventually tied the knot.
The couple have lived together for more than a decade and have six children. They are widely known for their viral videos of marriage proposals among their members and miraculous testimonies.
The founders of Kingdom Full Tabernacle International Ministries are currently in Ghana to hold a two-day ‘Revival Culture’ Ghana edition at Physicians and Surgeons Centre, close to African Unity Circle at Ridge, Accra from 12th to 13th December 2024. All are entreated to attend the event and experience God’s miracles.
In the meantime, "Akata" is a Ghanaian expression typically used to refer to people with swag or those who like to flex. It can also be called "Guy Guy."
