The South African Football Association has referred the matter between AmaZulu and Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed-Awal Issah to world football’s controlling body Fifa.
KickOff.com reported last month that the KwaZulu-Natal side had initially taken the issue to the Premier Soccer League, alleging that the player had reneged on their contract by absconding from the club.
The PSL then referred the matter to Safa, who have since asked Fifa to intervene.
“The matter is now with Fifa’s legal department. He went AWOL twice hence we referred the matter to the League and now we are waiting to hear from Fifa,” AmaZulu PRO Philani Mabaso tells this website.
The Accra-born Issah went AWOL in November after starting just two games for Usuthu since his return to the club last July.
