Five persons filed to contest for Council of State in the Upper West Region at the close of nominations.
They are the Gwollu Kouru, Kuri-Buktie Limann, Paramount Chief of Gwollu Traditional Area and a Lawyer.
He was a member of the Council for the Region during the NPP administration.
Others are Na Sohimininye Danah Gore, Paramount Chief of Dorimon Traditional Area, and President of Upper West Region House of Chiefs, and Naa Seidu Bhat Braimah, Guli Naa and a retired educationist.
The rest are Mr William Gangnir Wononuo, a retired Local Government Administrator and Mr Paschal Baylon Dere, a Development Expert.
Mr Yahaya Mahama, Upper West Regional Director of Electoral Commission, speaking to GNA, said no woman contested for the seat.
