Former United States Under Secretary of State for African Affairs Jendayi Elizabeth Frazer on Monday called on former President Rawlings and Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings to commiserate with them on the destruction of their residence by fire.
Dr Frazer who is in Ghana on a personal visit, held private discussions with the former first couple on Africa and international issues.
According to Former President Rawlings, Dr Frazer expressed her sympathies on the loss of their home and valued belongings and was thankful that no lives were lost.
Dr Frazer was United States Under Secretary of State for African Affairs during the Bush Administration.
A specialist in Africa and International Security Affairs, she was an assistant professor for Public Policy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
She was also Assistant Professor at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver
and editor of the journal Africa Today from 1991 to 1994.
