Three great English Premier League legends lead an EPL Masters team to Ghana to play in a peace match at the Accra Sports Stadium to create awareness for peace, ahead of the December elections and to honour the memory of Ghana’s late president John Evans Atta Mills.
Liverpool duo of Robie Fowler and Steve McManaman as well as Andy Cole of Manchester United will lead a 19 EPL Masters team to Ghana on September 13, to be part of several activities to create awareness for peace and to commiserate with all Ghanaians on the passing of former President John Mills.
Dubbed “Playing for Peace and in honour of Mills” the EPL legends will play Ghana’s ex-Black Stars legends on September 15, 2012, in a game that will see all presidential candidates or their representatives unite for peace and admire the beautiful game of football.
Organised by G7 Koncepts in collaboration with Joy Sports and British Council, the peace project will also see political party youths in the various constituencies in Accra, play in series of curtain raisers before the mouth watering encounter between the EPL Legends and the ex-Black Stars legends.
Already, the Odododiodio constituency noted for its rich political, boxing and football history is in the fray with the various political party youths preparing to feature in the top liner of the curtain raisers.
Myjoyonline.com is serializing the preparation of the various political party youths ahead of what will undoubtedly be a football rally for peace and in honour of Mills at the Accra Sports Stadium and it begins with the NPP in Odododiodio.
Peace message from the aspiring NPP MP-Victor Okaikoi.
“The Odododiodio constituency is made up of people from different ethnic groups. It is a gorgeous mosaic of people and it is a microcosm of the type of society we would like to build the nation into. We all live peacefully; we have for a very long period of time and we would like to keep it that way. It is the way of the future.”
