A group calling itself the Grand Coalition of the Sefwi Youth Association has expressed shock and dismay at the sudden termination of the appointment of Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng as Head of the Korle-Bu Cardiothoracic Centre. The group in a statement says as a son of Sefwi, the youth and people of the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area hold Prof. Kwabena Frimpong Boateng in very high esteem. They described Prof. Frimpong Boateng as a symbol of the youth in the area and an inspiration to not just the youth and people of Sefwi, but also the whole nation and the world as a whole.President of the Grand Coalition Sefwi Youth Association Nana Kwabena Agyemang told Asempa News in an interview that, the commitment and the selflessness of Kwabena Frimpong Boanteng to the Cardio Centre and to the nation can be compared to none in the country. He said they find it very strange for such an action to be taken against such a noble person of this country. He therefore called on President Mills to take immediate steps to reinstate Professor Frimpong Boateng to his former status and to compensate him in whichever way to redeem his image. He said failure to do this will result in the NDC government suffering a heavy defeat in 2012, since Sewfi citizens have been loyal to the NDC and the Atta Mills’ government.Meanwhile, the group is planning to embark on a massive demonstration in Sefwi Wiawso this Friday, 2nd September, if the decision is not reversed.
