Biometric Registration officials in the Ga West municipality say they have been able to register over 1,000 persons within eight days of the first leg of the biometric registration exercise in that municipality. The registration of the high number of prospective voters was attributed to the high turnout of prospective voters at the various registration centers within the municipality.Registration officials told the Joy News TV team people in the municipality were not aware that the registration team would move to another set of polling centers for another ten days so they trooped to the centers where the exercise was ongoing causing the centers to be choked.Checks by the news team at registration centers in Kuntunse, Sapeiman, Amasaman and Pokuase also revealed that the registration exercise was largely incident-free except for a few technical challenges which were promptly resolved by technicians from the Electoral Commission. At the Pokuase SDA church registration centre however, the registration officer George Azumah told our news team the center recorded its first registration challenge earlier in the morning when the nationality of a man who had come to register was challenged by another person.According to Mr. Azumah, the man who was challenged was allowed to go through the registration process and a challenge form has been added to his card for the EC to investigate the matter.
