Economist and tax administration expert George Vincent Blankson has been appointed the Commissioner General for the Ghana Revenue Authority.
Mr. Blankson once served as the Deputy Commissioner in Charge of Operations at the VAT Service in 1998.
Government last year promulgated the law merging all the three revenue agencies into one as the Ghana Revenue Authority.
Officials say the actual work to physically merge IRS, VAT and CEPS should be done within two years.
The objective of the integration is to centralize revenue collection and cut down on bureaucracy in tax administration.
