The Ghana Football Association will meet star midfielder Michael Essien over his protracted international absence after Ghana’s international friendly against England in London.The Chelsea star’s international future is the subject of an ongoing national debate, with opinions shapely divided on whether he is still relevant to the Black Stars after insisting he is not ready to play for the side again despite turning in week in, week out his club.Former GFA president Nyaho Tamakloe has urged the Football Association to forge ahead without him and effectively ban the midfielder from future assignments, but GFA president Kwesi Nyantekyie says it is important not to take any rash decisions.Instead, he will sit down with the player alongside other GFA members to try and sort out any differences that many are convinced is still holding the player back from resuming his international career.Essien has not played for Ghana since a 45-minute appearance against Ivory Coast in January 15 2010 at the Nations Cup in Angola.Source: Kickoff
