The Ghana Baptist Convention has joined calls for government to condemn NDC Chairman, Dr. Kwabena Adjei’s attacks on the Judiciary.
President of the Convention, Rev. Stephen Asante says such pronouncements on the judiciary by politicians have the potential to undermine the integrity of Ghana's constitutional rule.
Dr. Asante asked President Mills to boldly condemn the act and explains that such actions could derail the progress made in the country’s democratic journey if not checked.
“This is a very worrying development. It is a very dangerous development and must be condemned in no uncertain terms.
“We as a convention also frowns upon any open partisan behavior of the clergy, no matter who they are and who they represent. We in the clergy must endeavour to remain as non-partisan as possible,” he stated.
He described as “offensive” statements made by Rev. Asante-Antwi during a thanksgiving service held by the opposition New Patriotic Party.
