Inspector-General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Boanuh says although Ghana continues to be a very peaceful country evidence in its global ranking, Ghanaians should continue to make efforts in making it one of the most peaceful countries in the world.
The IGP was speaking at the National Police Command Conference with the Interior Minister in attendance as well other top police officers.
According to IGP Oppong-Boanuh, "Ghana has been and continues to be a peaceful country. The 2020 Global Peace Index produced by the Institute of Economics and Peace on June 11, 2020, ranked Ghana as the third most peaceful country in Sub-Saharan Africa.
"The role of the Police and other law enforcement agencies in this global recognition cannot be over-emphasized. However, we should not get carried away but continuously strive to make Ghana one of the most peaceful countries in the world."

He is, therefore, urging citizens and others to play it's role of assisting the police to combat violent crimes.
IGP James Oppong-Boanuh also charged the various commanders of the Police force to liaise with other security agencies to promote community safety.
"The best approach to crime reduction and prevention is through collaboration between criminal justice agencies, the private sector, civil society organizations and with local communities around the whole country.
"The need for better collaboration between police, prisons, social services, the courts and ministry of justice and now with private security organizations (PSOs) is more pertinent now than ever to collectively deliver improved outcomes for all involved."
