The Ghana Football Association has confirmed holding informal talks with ex-France captain Marcel Desailly over the vacant national team coaching job.Desailly told the French press on Saturday that he is close to reaching an agreement to lead the Black Stars possibly to the next World Cup in Brazil in 2014 but that has been played down.Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi has distanced the federation away from Desailly’s imminent appointment, asking the 1998 World Cup winner to apply for the job if interested.“I met him at an informal function and we talked informally about the job. I must admit that it was nothing serious but if he’s interested, then, he must apply like others have done. We have to go through the process to name a new coach,” GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi told Ghanasoccernet.comGhanasoccernet sources reveal the Ministry of Sports mooted the idea of appointing Desailly as new Black Stars coach but the Executive Committee of the GFA is yet to consider the proposal.The vacant Ghana coaching job has attracted a lot of top-notch expatriate coaches who have all applied for it.Source: Ghanasoccernet.com
