Ghana and AshGold goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has confirmed he has picked up his Jeep Cherokee which was a reward to the Black Stars after their second place finish in Equatorial Guinea.
The Black Stars were rewarded by Tanick as added bonus to their surprise second place finish in Equatorial Guinea where they exceeded expectations to reach the final even though they lost on the ultimate.
The donation of cars to the Black Stars is in redemption of a pledge made to the team through Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi ahead of the 2014 World Cup.
The pledge was however not fulfilled as originally scheduled since the Black Stars failed to satisfy the condition set for them by going beyond the group stage of the tournament staged in Brazil.
The team however redeemed itself with the performance in Equatorial Guinea and Fatau has confirmed he has picked up his Jeep.
“I have picked up my Jeep and I can confirm to you that some of the foreign based players have also asked their family members and friends to pick up theirs,” Dauda told a local station in Obuasi
“I only had the easy access to pick up mine because I was the only local based player in the team so it was easy going there and picking it up.”
