Medeama coach Tom Strand is confident of upsetting Ashantigold in their Super Cup encounter on Sunday.
The Swedish trainer, who led his side to triumph over Hearts and Kotoko in last season’s MTN FA Cup, believes his side are well prepared and have had the better of the Miners in recent meetings.
Strand, who was linked with the Hearts of Oak job, has been tasked with leading the Tarkwa side to their second appearance in a continental competition when they play in the CAF Confederations Cup in March.
However, the Yellow and Mauves will have to begin on the domestic front when the Premier League starts in a fortnight’s time.
Sunday’s Super Cup game will usher in the new domestic season and the former Bechem United coach is eyeing the silverware at stake.
“We are going to play against one of the best clubs in Ghana.” Strand said.
“They are very organized and have a very experienced and professional area handling their football.”
“I know we are going to win because we have beaten them more than they have beaten us.”
“So in the end it will be a great and fantastic game. One of the best.”
Both teams are scheduled to meet on the first matchday of the Premier League season.
