The youth President of the Ghana Association of the Blind has called on members of the public not to show mere sympathy to their plight.
Adongo Ato Jacob says Ghanaians must help to provide jobs for persons with disability particularly those who have been trained in various fields.
He tells Joy News although the tokens given to them are sometimes helpful, what persons with disability need is permanent employment in all sectors of the economy.
“I want to call on the society and the general public to try to solve the unemployment among the graduate persons with disability,” he said.
He maintained the disability law stipulates that every department should have a desk for people with disability but that has been flouted.
