In the wake of the fires that have ravaged many state buildings, the government has been urged to furnish all state buildings with modern fire detection equipment and save the nation money.
In 2009, the Foreign Ministry, the Information Ministry, and former President Rawlings’ Ridge residence were consumed by fire and their concomitant loss of valuable documents.
The government can save the nation the pain that comes with such losses by making it a policy for all state facilities to be equipped with state-of-the-art fire alarm systems.
The Chief Executive of Virtual Security Africa, a digital surveillance security company, Mr Emmanuel Asiedu Sekyere, made these observations in Accra at the Coconut Grove Hotel, where the company exhibited some of its products to journalists and the general public.
The company used the opportunity to launch its latest version of Fire Alarm Security product, the Gent Fire Alarm System onto the Ghanaian market.
“Many fires have started undetected and guttered buildings and many false fire alarms have also been raised in facilities across the country causing panic and fear among occupants of buildings. This has often led to the disruption of work.
To prevent such occurrences the S-QUAD, which is the newest technology in the fire alarm industry was introduced to detect REAL FIRES and REDUCING FALSE ALARMS.”
He said the S-Quad is a ground breaker in fire sensing expertise, recognising a REAL distinction between nuisance system caused by hot showers and smoke caused by a REAL fire.
Explaining the components and functions of the system, Mr Asiedu said it has a Vigilon System, “software that is incorporated in the control panel and intelligent loop powered devices of the fire alarm system which makes it easy to use. It also has CCTV integration capabilities.”
“Other capabilities of the Gent Fire Alarm system include; heat sensors, smoke sensors, beam detectors, alarm sounders and visual alarms and the S-CUBED technology which offers sounders that include recorded speech massages delivered in a synchronised manner to create an alert,” Mr Asiedu stated.
In addition to the firm’s alarm systems, the CEO of VSA said the company also undertakes distribution, design and installation of CCTV (including wireless systems), IDS, Access Controls Systems, Assets Tracking Systems, Time and Attendance for Individuals, Businesses and Government Institutions and Body Armour Products like Bullet Proof Vest, Helmets and Shields.
