Government has with immediate effect restored fuel allowance to doctors.
This followed a meeting between the leadership of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), the Chief of Staff and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Mr Kwadwo Mpiani and officials of the Ministry of Health on Monday.
A statement signed by Dr E.A. Winful, President of GMA, said the doctors also held a separate meeting with the Minister of Employment and the National Labour Commission.
It said specific issues regarding implementation and other issues would be finalised in other meetings on Tuesday.
The statement said issues discussed were the reinstatement of fuel allowance, MOU governing negotiated salaries, resolution of distorted salary relativities and six months outstanding salaries for house offices.
"The Road Map remains intact and GMA members are entreated to await further communication from Council after Tuesday's meetings," the statement said.
