Contractors working on four major road networks in the country have given definite completion dates as government releases funds for the projects.
The projects which have stalled for some time now are the Sofo-line interchange, Achimota-Ofankor, Medina-Adenta and Nsawam-Apedwa projects.
The contractors are now expected to return to work the next few days after government announced the release of funds for work.
They told President Mills the projects will be ready before the end of 2012.
Finance Minister Dr. Kwabena Duffour said money is no longer a problem.
“As we are speaking now we have mobilized enough funds for the completion of these major routes.
“We want to know the road map, when are going to complete all these projects.
According to him, he has released $23 million for the Achimota–Ofankor, $13 million for the Tetteh Quarshie-Madina, $13 million for the Akuafo to Apedwa, and $17 million for the Sofoline project 13 million adding, “we have enough funding to complete all these routes.”
President Mills asked the contractors to expedite work to make life comfortable for all who use these roads.
He expressed regrets that all the four roads were started in the previous administration but funding for the completion was non-existent.
