Organisers of the 59th Independence Day celebrations are being criticised for the grammatical, typographical and factual mistakes found in the official independence brochure.

Tourism advocate, Pa John Bentsifi Dadson, says the errors in the official brochure of the 59th Independence Day celebration are embarrassing and calls for answers.
During and after the colourful event, social media was trending with the errors in the brochure, one of which referred to Uhuru Kenyata as the President of Ghana amongst other errors.

It is not clear who was contracted to prepare the text and print the brochure.
According to Dadson, those in charge knew that Independence Day celebrations was coming up but failed to plan towards the production of the brochure.
He wants the government to answer questions on when the contract what given out, who it was given to, their competencies and experience in printing.
“What informed whoever gave the contract out to give it to the people who did it?,” Dadson wants to know.
Speaking on JOY FM’s Super Morning Show, Dadson described the situation as unacceptable.
Another incident that took the shine off the colorful independence event was the decision to pack some journalists in a tipper truck to cover the event.
Three years ago, some journalists were beaten by soldiers at the independence parade for trespassing.
For security reasons, movement on the event grounds is restricted, but the decision to use a tipper truck belonging to National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) to carry journalists around the event grounds has been widely criticized.
