Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan is full of praise for his team mates after they sealed a 7th consecutive appearance at the African Cup of Nations.
The Stars beat Mauritius 2-0 to open up a seven point lead at the top of Group E to confirm their qualification to the tournament with a game to spare.
Gyan who has missed the last three qualifiers due to injury is happy with the output of the team.
“I want to congratulate the boys for the victory. It has been a long journey and I think each and every player who has been invited has been able to deliver.”
“It is a great thing. This is what the nation wants.”
“That is what we call the Black Stars. Everyone that has been given the chance has been able to prove what he can do for the country.”
Gyan did not also leave out the technical team for their support throughout the qualification series
I will also like to thank the staff for their work and sacrifice. They have also done well to ensure that we qualify.
Ghana’s last game in the qualifier will be against Rwanda in September.
