Hair care is a topic we can spend hours researching on, especially when it comes to homemade remedies for long, strong hair.
People always find themselves wanting when it comes to discovering the right product for their hair.
Also, because most products for hair care routines are often costly, people get discouraged from paying attention to their hair and taking good care of it.
Below are some simple and cost-effective recipes that can be made at home to help in your hair growth.
Coconut Oil Recipe

Coconut oil contains fatty acids which can go deep into your hair shaft and stop protein loss. Coconut oil can be used as an overnight mask or as a leave-in treatment, depending on your hair type.
If your hair type is oily, you can apply the coconut oil, keep it overnight and wash it off the next morning. However, if you have dry hair, apply a few drops of coconut oil as a leave-in serum after your hair wash.
Tip: Massaging coconut oil on your scalp and hair can help promote hair growth and add shine while making it feel very soft.
Aloe Vera Gel recipe

Aloe Vera is one plant that can be seen almost everywhere. Aloe Vera gel is a popular ingredient commonly used for hair loss. It is a great scalp soother while conditioning your hair.
It works wonders in reducing dandruff and unblocks hair follicles that might be blocked due to excess oil production. You can apply it directly to your scalp for an hour before taking your shower.
Tip: Although freshly harvested Aloe Vera gel works best, opt for an OTC (Over the Counter) one if you don't have access to fresh leaves.
Onion Juice recipe

This is another famous recipe which improves blood circulation in the scalp and cuticles. It is rich in keratin which plays a vital role in growth factors.
You can blend a few onions, squeeze out the juice and apply it on your scalp for 15 - 20 minutes before shampoo wash. If you can battle the onion smell, this is a holy grail ingredient for your hair.
Tip: If you have cuts or scratches on your scalp, fresh onion juice might cause a burning sensation in your scalp so be prepared.
These home recipes are a must-try for ladies. Try using them consistently for at least a week and you will see clear change in your hair.
A Do It Yourself (DIY) Hair Mask for Hair Thickening
There are three major ingredients needed for the hair mask recipe. They are:
Cocoa, Coconut and Cinnamon.
This mask is rich in antioxidants and theobromine which helps in boosting growth, blood flow and circulation around the follicles.
How to mix the ingredients:
-10 tablespoons of coconut cream
-½ cup cocoa powder (no sugar added)
-¾ tablespoon of powdered cinnamon.
Prep time: 5 minutes
Leave-in time: 30 minutes
How to apply the ingredients:
1. Pour all three ingredients in a bowl and mix until you reach a smooth and creamy consistency.
2. Rinse hair with ordinary water and apply the mixture onto the damp and wet hair from the roots to the tips.
3. Cover your hair with a plastic cap and leave it on for 30 minutes.
4. Rinse your hair with warm water and shampoo. Go for a cleansing shampoo.
Note: This mask cannot be refrigerated or stored. It must be made and used fresh.
Tip: Try applying this mask once a week on days you don't oil your hair. A gentle cleansing shampoo will clear out any remaining built-up product or residue while not stripping your hair off the moisture.
