The Board of Directors of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has set up a five-member Committee to advise the Board on the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer for the Club.
The current Premier League champions have been without a substantive CEO for more than a month following the resignation of Thomas Okine, who has been installed as Chief of the Gbese Traditional Area.
A statement signed by Ernest Thompson, Board Secretary and copied to the GNA Sports explained that the 25-member body agreed on this directive after its meeting on Wednesday.
The statement named the search team as Commodore Mensah, Board Chairman, Professor Kofi Kumado of the Legon Centre for International Affairs (LECIA), Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Mr Harry Zakkour, former CEO of the Club and Alhaji Issaka, a Director of the Club.
The Committee is expected to advise the Board on the modalities for the appointment of a new CEO at its next meeting.
Meanwhile, three members of the “Phobian” hierarchy - Board Members Frank Nelson and Stephen Akwetey as well as the Chairman of the National Chapters Committee (NCC), Neil Armstrong - have all been linked to the vacant seat.
The appointment of a new CEO is expected to lead the Club into the next football season.
