The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has outlined an elaborate programme to welcome home the newly crowned International Boxing Federation (IBF) Bantamweight champion, Joseph Agbeko.
Agbeko who is expected home on Monday, October 8, will hold a press briefing after which he will pay a courtesy call on the Chief Executive of the National Sports Council (NSC) and the Minister of Education, Science and Sports.
Mr Ignatius Elletey, General Secretary of the GBA in a press release said the champion will on the same day have lunch with members of his family at the Coconut Grove Hotel with live appearances on all the major television stations in the country.
On Tuesday, Agbeko will go on a victory procession through the principal streets of Accra and later call on the President, John Agyekum Kufuor at a live press conference to crown the day.
Champion Agbeko will also call on the Ga Mantse on Wednesday, the third day after his arrival.
Other programmes outlined to welcome home the champion are a special endorsement cocktail at Alisa Hotel and a President's champion buffet dinner.
The rest are a victory boat ride on the Volta Lake to Dodi Island, a Thanksgiving Service at the Royal House Chapel and a series of regional tours.
