Leading European mobile phone manufacturer and official smartphone partner of FC Barcelona, Human Mobile Devices (HMD), has officially debuted in Ghana on April 15, 2025.
The event was at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, with the launch of four new mobile devices designed specifically to meet the needs of Ghanaian consumers.
The launch event took place and was attended by key industry stakeholders, tech enthusiasts, and media representatives.
The newly unveiled lineup includes two smartphones: HMD Arc and HMD Aura 2 alongside the Nokia 130 Music and Nokia 150 Music feature phones, all delivering on HMD’s promise of style, performance, and affordability.
The new devices highlight HMD’s unique approach to mobile technology, providing long-lasting, easily repairable phones with features that support the lifestyle of the average Ghanaian.
Both the HMD Arc and Aura 2 boast a powerful 5000mAh battery, designed to last up to three days on a single charge.
They also retain 80% of battery health after 800 charging cycles, ensuring extended usability.
Speaking at the launch, Usman Shahid, Head of Sales Operations & New Business - AMEA, emphasised the brand’s alignment with local expectations, “We’re proud to bring these phones that truly understand the needs of our market.
"Consumers want more than just a phone – they want value, reliability, and style. Whether it’s the repairable Arc and Aura 2 smartphones or the music-ready Nokia 130 and 150, HMD delivers devices that meet everyday needs and offer full value for money”.
For fans of simpler devices, the Nokia 130 Music and Nokia 150 Music offer excellent sound quality through powerful loudspeakers, along with a built-in MP3 player and FM radio that works with or without earphones.
The Nokia 150 Music also features a camera for capturing casual, retro-style photos. Both devices are optimised for long battery life, with up to a month of standby time.
HMD’s entry into the Ghanaian market comes at a time when demand for affordable yet quality mobile technology continues to rise.
