The Member of Parliament for Ho West, Emmanuel Bedzrah, has assured constituents of accelerated development in all sectors of the constituency in the next four years.
He stressed that he would ensure the constituency benefits from all government initiatives while distributing development projects evenly.
He said this when he met the chiefs and people of Tsito during his tour to show appreciation to the electorate for endorsing his fifth-term bid to parliament.
Road expansion
Mr. Bedzrah said that constructing the access road to the Tsito Senior High Technical School in less than six months of the National Democratic Congress assuming power is a testament to his commitment to improving the state of roads in the district.
He added that he lobbied for all access roads on the campus to be constructed to uplift the status of the school.
He emphasized the government would ensure the Bame-Anyrawase road which is fast-deteriorating is constructed to promote economic growth.
“I know our roads in Awudome are not the best, so, when the Roads Minister asked me, which roads should be constructed, I mentioned the Bame-Anyirawase road. I want to assure you that it won’t be long before the contractor starts work on the stretch”, he said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to opening a new road through the mountain to connect Anyirawase to Tsibu.
“The engineers came to inspect the site on Thursday, and they will return to the site by the end of the month and start breaking the mountain to connect the two towns”, he said.
Human resource development
Mr. Bedzrah reiterated his commitment to supporting qualified candidates from across the constituency in furthering their education at the tertiary slot pulsa level either in Ghana or outside the country, aiming to enhance the human resources of the area.
“When you notice you need financial help for your education, just fill the GETFund scholarship forms when it is out and let me know, I will help you get a scholarship”, he assured.
Mr. Bedzrah encouraged his constituents to apply for the "Work Abroad Program" when it begins so he can facilitate their inclusion, to they travel, work, “and bring wealth back home.”
Water
He acknowledged that Tsito township lacks enough potable water, adding that some vantage suburbs such as Gborkorfe, Xordeme have been identified to be provided with mechanized boreholes.
He said plans are underway to also connect the Awudome Traditional Area and others in the constituency to the supply lines of the Kpeve Water Treatment station.
Health
He hinted at expanding the Tsito Clinic to improve provision of quality healthcare and as well put an end to residents traveling outside the district for basic healthcare.
He added that a CHPS Compound would also be constructed at Bokorvikofe to serve satellite settlements and farm houses in the enclave.
Mr. Bedzrah said, “similarly other areas in the constituency that are in urgent need of health facilities would be provided so our people can stay healthy.”
Education
Mr. Bedzrah announced that a 6-unit classroom block will be constructed for the Tsito Junior Junior High School to augment infrastructure at his alma mater.
He also informed the gathering about infrastructure projects for the Awudome Senior High School and Tsito Senior High Technical Schools in due course.
“I am also working with the Ministry for Gender and Social Protection to expand the school feeding program to cover schools that are left out. I have already presented a list of all the schools in Ho West and it won’t be long before all the pupils will be served lunch by the government”, he said.
Rural electrification
He said that he had instructed the Assembly Members to identify areas that do not have electricity, so he lobbies the Electricity Company of Ghana to extend power to those areas.
He said that areas that may need streetlights to be powered with solar will also be considered.
Mr. Bedzrah presented 10 streetlights as a show of gratitude to the Tsito community for giving him and the National Democratic Congress an average of 90% of total votes during the 2024 general elections.
