Minister for Water Resources, Works and Housing, Alhaji Collins Dauda has cautioned estate developers against building properties close to the Weija Dam.
He warned that developers who fail to adhere to the advice will risk having their structures pulled down without compensation.
The minister is worried lands around the dam are being sold by chiefs to estate developers without the necessary permits. Such ignoble behaviour, he said, is threatening the water body.
He warns their action, if unchecked, could make pipe borne water a scarce commodity for residents in the region.
Alhaji Dauda said he is collaborating with the National Security apparatus to clamp down on such encroachers.
