It was a busy weekend for Ghanaian footballers in Europe.
Dennis Mirpuri monitored the various roles played Ghanaian internationals for their clubs and reports that ex Black Stars Captain Stephen Appiah has become a key member of Casena that went on top of the Italian Serie A at the weekend. Appiah played his third successive game for Casena in their 1-0 win over Lecce.Midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng played full 90 minutes for AC Milan in their 1-1 draw with Catania. Sulley Muntari came on as a 76th minute substitute in Inter Milan’s 2-1 win over Palermo.Kwadwo Asamoah lasted the entire duration of the game for Udinese in their 4-0 defeat to Juventus and Michael Essien who is on a temporary break from the Black Stars played full 90 minutes for Chelsea in their 4-0 win over Blackpool in the English Premiership.Striker Asamoah Gyan was a 64th minute substitute in Sunderland’s 1-1 with Arsenal. John Paintsil was left on the bench in Fulham’s 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers.In France, Andre Ayew played 80 minutes and scored twice in Olympique Marseille’s 3-0 win over Arles Avignon. His younger brother Jordan came on as a 62nd minute substitute for Mathieu Valbuena.In Germany, Left back Hans Adu Sarpei played 66 minutes for Shalke 04 in their 3-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund. Isaac Vorsah played 90 minutes and team mate Prince Tagoe was left on the bench in TSG Hoffenheim’s 2-2 draw with Kaiserslautern.Source: Joy Sports/Ghana
