The body of Ibrahim Sima, late Chief Executive of modeling agency EXOPA, has been released to his family for burial later today.
Ibrahim Sima died last Friday at the Police Hospital after he got injured during a football game at the Nsawam Prison where he was serving a 15 year jail term.
The body of the former EXOPA CEO is believed to be at the 37 Military Hospital for autopsy.
Family of Mr Sima had earlier accused the Police Hospital and the Prison Service of negligence, an accusation the hospital has denied.
Speaking to Joy News, son of the deceased, Abu Sima said the hospital will perform the autopsy on the body Tuesday December 9 and later release the body to the family for burial.
The EXOPA boss was arrested on September 7, 2009 at the Kotoka International Airport when a luggage search revealed tubers of yam in which were embedded narcotic substances.
Ibrahim was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in 2011 for the attempted narcotics smuggling.
Sima denied the charges and told officials of the Narcotics Control Board, who interrogated him after his arrest, that the yams were given to him by one Salifu who resides in Nima, a suburb of Accra, to be given to a friend for a fee of 3,000 Euros.
