The New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate  for the Tamale Central Constituency Dr Ibrahim Anyars Bariham Baba has vowed to give the National Democratic Congress a good run for their money in the upcoming 2016 parliamentary contest.

Dr Anyars said the NPP has finally found the man with the guts to beat the incumbent MP Inusah Fuseini and wrest the seat from him.

He said this when he was officially introduced to the Northern Regional Chairman of the NPP Daniel Bugri Nabu as candidate to represent the Tamale Central in the upcoming elections.

Dr Anyars said that he had enjoyed massive support right from the day he announced his candidature to the point of his election to represent the party. He is convinced he will enjoy similar support from non NPP supporters during the 2016 elections.

The former Tile Hill College lecturer in the UK said he would be a different Member of Parliament when elected and would develop the Tamale Central Constituency and make it the heart beat of all the constituencies in the region.

He said the difficulties he encountered growing up- poverty, deprivations- are still prevalent in the constituency today as they were in the past and would work towards solving it.

Dr Anyars assured that when he wins the seat he will introduce various scholarship schemes to ensure brilliant but needy children have access to education, adding that it would start from the early childhood stage to make them grow to become useful adults in the community.

He said with his experience as a professional teacher and lecturer in the United Kingdom he is familiar with several schemes that can provide scholarships for the youth to study in and outside the country.

He also assured that empowerment of women will take center stage of his development agenda for the constituency.

He said most women in the area are homemakers and would need to be empowered economically to take care of the needs of their families.

Dr Anyars  said it would not be politics or business as usual but total development of the people when he is elected MP.
