JAK storms Bekwai for unity rally

The Chronicle is reliably informed that the former President, Mr. John Agyekum Kufuor, would be attending the first ever Unity Rally after the New Patriotic Party (NPP) went into the opposition. The former Vice President, Mr. Aliu Mahama, and national and regional party executives are also expected to be in attendance. The rally, designed to bring on board all supporters of the independent Member of Parliament for the area, Mr. Joseph Osei-Wusu, and former MP, Mr. Kofi Poku Adusei, together, towards a massive win for the party in the 2012 election, is being organised by the executive of the Bekwai Constituency of the New Patriotic Party, led by its constituency chairman, Mr. Patrick Adu Gyamfi. It would create a platform for all presidential aspirants to deliver their messages to delegates, and give meaning to the adoption of 'Unity' as the party's slogan for the 2012 elections. The new Constituency Chairman, Mr. Adu Gyamfi, 53, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Century Mineral Water in Kumasi, is poised to unite the rank and file of the party in the constituency, as part of efforts at making the NPP attractive and more formidable, for a massive victory in 2012, and ensure that the NPP recaptures the NPP parliamentary seat. Chairman Adu Gyamfi, who has been working for unity among party supporters since he assumed the chairmanship four months ago, has asked all supporters of the NPP, especially those in the Bekwai constituency, to live in one accord, for NPP to win the 2012 elections. He is working to secure 90% of votes for both the presidential and parliamentary candidates of the party. Source: Chronicle
