The delegation was led by Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ms Ayano Kunimitsu, and the Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, Hiroshi Yoshimoto. They were received by the Board Chairman of Cenpower Generation Ltd, Mr Samuel Nana Brew-Butler, alongside members of the company’s management team.
The visit featured a guided tour of the KIPP facility, during which the delegation observed plant operations and received briefings on the project’s contribution to Ghana’s power generation capacity and national energy security.
Members of the Japanese delegation expressed admiration for the scale, technical quality and strategic importance of the KIPP project, describing it as a strong example of sustainable private-sector investment supporting national development.
Welcoming the delegation, Mr Brew-Butler expressed appreciation for Japan’s long-standing partnership with Ghana.
“We are honoured to host this distinguished delegation and to showcase the KIPP project, which reflects our commitment to reliable power generation, operational excellence and long-term national development,” he said. “The confidence expressed by the Japanese Government reinforces Ghana’s position as an attractive destination for strategic energy investments.”

The Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs commended Cenpower for its role in strengthening Ghana’s power supply, while the Japanese Ambassador to Ghana reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote sustainable growth, private-sector participation and energy resilience across Africa.
He noted that the KIPP project aligns strongly with Japan’s development cooperation priorities.

“The KIPP project was designed and operated to meet the highest international standards of safety, efficiency and environmental responsibility,” he said.
“We are pleased to demonstrate firsthand how the project continues to deliver reliable power to support Ghana’s industrial and economic growth.”
