A combination of floods and an explosion on June 3, 2015 at a GOIL filling station at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle claimed over 100 lives and displaced thousands of residents.
The disaster started with a normal rainfall but intensified during the night resulting in a historic flooding in many parts of the capital but the explosion worsoned the disaster.
President Mahama who visited the scene of the fire declared that government will take drastic measures to reduce the impact of floods and fires.
He later announced a $50 million package to support victims of the flood and fire.
General Secretary of the Ghana Red Cross Society said providing blankets, clothes and food to the victims is not enough.
Kofi Addo believes that the victims should be supported financially in order for them to revamp their businesses.
