Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hopes to be able to return to work today less than 48 hours after an operation to remove his appendix.
The German missed Saturday's 2-2 draw at home to Sunderland as he was undergoing surgery in the afternoon after being taken to Aintree Hospital after becoming ill.
Press Association Sport understands on Sunday Klopp expressed his desire to return to normal duties at the club's Melwood training ground today.
If that is the case he fully intends to address the media at a scheduled 2pm press conference to preview Liverpool's FA Cup fourth round replay at West Ham on Tuesday.
Medical advice suggests that is possibly slightly optimistic, however a decision will be made later in the day as to whether the 48-year-old will be back at his desk.
General information on the procedure suggests if a patient has had keyhole surgery to remove the appendix they can be discharged from hospital within 24 hours and can return to a normal routine within one to three weeks.
