With only three days left for the last Ghanaian facing execution in Libya, family members make frantic efforts to seek clemency.
The family of Kwabena Kankam, the last surviving Ghanaian due to be executed in Libya on Friday is making frantic efforts to stop the execution.Relatives of the convict are travelling to Dormaa Ahenkro in the Brong Ahafo region, to seek clemency for their incarcerated relative, who has admitted to killing another Ghanaian Isaac Oppong, in what he calls self-defence.Meanwhile government says it has dispatched another letter to the Libyan authorities to buy time whilst the negotiations for clemency continue.Foreign Minister Akwasi Osei-Adjei tells Joy News that government has no real options in the matter and is counting on the goodwill of the Libyan government.
