The family of a 59-year-old driver is blaming officials of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for his death.
Owusu Sekyere was referred to the Emergency Unit from another section where he was taken after suffering health complications.
But he was allegedly denied treatment at the Emergency Unit because officials there said they were not responsible for handling the case.
Mr. Sekyere died while being taken back to the unit from which he was referred to the Emergency Unit.
A niece of the deceased Sethlina Asante described as bitter circumstances that led to the death of Sekyere.
“Seeing the condition of the patient I thought they could have…done a bit of quick intervention before referring them back with a note detailing why they sent him to the wrong place,” she said.
Meanwhile hospital authorities say they are yet to receive any complain from the family of Owusu Sekyere.
Public Relations Officer, Mr Kwame Frimpong, told Joy News that management would investigate the circumstances that led to the death of the driver.
“We usually in such cases constitute a panel to delve into the matter and I’m very sure the same thing is going to happen in this case, and that if there are any sanctions, as per the report,…appropriate sanctions would be applied,” he stressed.
