Editor of the Daily Searchlight Newspaper, Kenneth Agyei Kuranchie and his family today went to the Ebenezer Methodist Church at Akweteman in Accra to offer thanks to God following his release from the Nsawam Prisons after serving 10-day jail term.
He was sentenced to 10 days in prison by the Supreme Court hearing the presidential election petition, on July 2, 2013 for criminal contempt because he published opposing comments about the a ban the court placed on a Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku.
Ken Kuranchie who regained his freedom last Thursday was accompanied to church by loved ones and some NPP supporters.
In an interview with Adom News, Ken Kuranchie noted that he and his family were at church to give thanks to God for his protection while he was jailed.
“Am here in church with my family and some friends to give thanks to the most high God” Ken Kuranchie said.
He noted that after the church service, the Member of Parliament for Okai Koi North in the Greater Accra Region, Mrs. Elizabeth K. T. Sackey will hold some refreshment at her residence for him and the rest of the family.
Mr. Kuranchie stated that after the get-together, there will be a launch of foundation dubbed “Ken Kuranchie Opinion Foundation” at Lapaz.
Meanwhile, some of the family members who also spoke with Adom News expressed their appreciation to God for the life of their beloved.
