Founder and Leader of  King David Abazeri Ministres, Bishop King David Abaszeri, over the weekend partnered Koala Super Market to hold one of the ministry's biggest charity programs where hundreds of street families were feted at Osu in Accra.

The elderly were also given free medical screening.

The program is an annual outreach event introduced five years ago to support the underprivileged in various communities.

However, this year's event was special as it coincided with the founder's 40th birthday.

The founder revealed that he decided to make the event special by increasing the sharing of food and drinks to the homeless.

He expressed his appreciation to the manament of Triple C,Perfect Hands Medical Center and Hon. Geoffery Attakli for supporting the program.

Earlier in the day, a free health screening was organized for the aged where over 700 elderly citizens including members of the Help Age Ghana drawn from Osu and its environs benefited.

The exercise was conducted by the medical personnel from Perfect Hand Medical Center, a private health facility based in Accra.

The medical team conducted checks such as high blood pressure, sugar level, weight and hepatitis B.

Apart from that, the team had a one-on-one interaction with those managing chronic diseases.

Wife the Bishop, Mrs Abazeri, took some of the participants through counselling and prayer sessions.

The second part of the program was culminated by praises and worship followed by the sharing food and drinks.

Special praises and worship were held followed by a cake cutting ceremony to climax the programme.

The programme was also used to launch a magazine which focuses on both spiritual and physical empowerment.

In an interview, Bishop Abazeri said the programme was about love and sharing because he believes God has brought him this far so that others too can benefit from the things he has been blessed with.

After presenting items worth GHS10.000 to support the program, the Marking Officer of the Koala Supermarket, Gretha Slinning, said the company supported the program because Koala believes in family and people's welfare.

"We grew in Ghana so we love to help our community since there are many people who need help and maybe they don’t have the money to do it, so we can help with something," she said.

Ms Gretha Slinning said her company is delighted to be part of the program and pledged their continuous support in the coming years.

She said Koala has been sponsoring community programs as part of its corporate social responsibility policy.
