Ghanaian musician and actor Koby Maxwell has expressed his concerns about the quality of Ghanaian music released in recent times.
In a conversation on Daybreak Hitz with Doreen Avio, Koby Maxwell reflected on the differences between the music of his time and the present generation.
Koby Maxwell noted that while his generation focused on meaningful lyrics, today’s music scene prioritises beats over substance.
“I think that the music people wanted to hear was what your lyrics was about. And now it has come to people driven to the beats,” he said.
He expressed shock at the lack of filter in some modern Ghanaian music, with lyrics that can be insulting or nonsensical.
