Kofi Adams has been appointed Coordinator for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC)'s 2016 election campaign.
The appointment of Mr Adams, who is also the National Organiser of the NDC, was made two weeks ago, but party executives confirmed a few days ago, according to Joy News sources.
Per his latest appointment, Mr. Adams will be tasked with supervising fundraising if possible, as well as engaging in some field activities.
He is also expected to manage public communications of the party and ensure all campaign activities around the president comply with the party’s regulations.
The governing party will also unveil its full campaign team soon as the party kicks off its campaign for the 2016 general elections later this month.
The NDC has also scheduled July 16, 2016, for the launch of its manifesto at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
President John Mahama, the party's presidential candidate, is eyeing a second term while his main contender Nana Akufo-Addo of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is hoping to annex the presidency in his third attempt.
