A Deputy General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho is continuing with his relentless attack on Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
In his latest diatribe, he called the NPP Vice Presidential candidate Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia an incompetent liar who does not deserve to be made Vice President of Ghana.
Speaking at the Ashanti regional launch of the NDC’s campaign Saturday, Mr. Anyidoho said what Dr. Bawumia knows best is spreading lies and falsehood in his attempt to make the NPP look good.
Dr. Bawumia, a former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana appears to be a thorn in the flesh of the governing party.
His constant reference to President John Mahama’s administration as incompetent has irked leaders of the NDC greatly.
He has over the years held a series of lectures on Ghana’s economy, repeatedly pointing out that things are going in the wrong direction.
Largely opposition elements call him a prophet because he has previously correctly predicted unpalatable economic outcomes which were dismissed by government but which turned out exactly as he projected.

In an election year, Dr. Bawumia’s comments on the economy not only frustrate but anger the NDC a great deal.
He has thus become the target of harsh criticism and even plain insults from his opponents who insist that his analysis are voodoo and grand deception.
Recently President John Mahama himself challenged Dr. Bawumia to tell Ghanaians the cost of the redenomination of the local currency undertaken by the Kufuor government in 2007 when he was Deputy Governor of the Central bank.
Bawumia responded saying the request proved the President was incompetent since in his view the information was readily available.
Speaking at the NDC’s Ashanti Regional campaign launch in Kumasi, Mr. Anyidoho said Dr. Bawumia reeked of lies.
He claimed the Deputy Governor (who was not known to be NPP at the time) gave a contract to a brother of the NPP's flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo and paid him huge sums.
He composed a song in Hausa in which he described the respected economist as a foolish man.
