The Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong will on Monday meet officials from the Ghana League Clubs Association over a possible review of sanctions imposed on the Club after its players boycotted the medals presentation ceremony after losing the President’s Cup game to Berekum Chelsea on July 1, 2011.
GHALCA handed Kotoko a one year ban from all GHALCA organized competitions and a fine of GHS10,000 after they snubbed the medal presentation ceremony in protest at refereeing decisions at this year's President's Cup.
Dr Sarpong, who was not at the country then said it will be very inappropriate on his part to blame anybody for what happened.
He told Asempa Sports on Monday he will be meeting the executives of GHALCA by close of day to see how best the issue can be resolved.
Dr. Sarpong hinted that he would not hesitate to issue a public apology to GHALCA should it be established that his team was at fault.
He has directed his outfit not to comment on the issue until the outcome of his meeting with GHALCA.
