Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s spending spree is set to continue with reports indicating the Porcupine Warriors are on the verge of signing Kwame Boateng.
Boateng, who played for relegated Great Olympics last season, bagged six goals for the Wonder Club.
The striker is set to play a leading role in the club in the coming season with Ivorian Ahmed Toure rumored to be on his way out.
The 22 year old will be expected to join forces with Obed Owusu and Dauda Mohammed upfront as Kotoko go in search of the league title they lost to regional rivals Ashantigold last season.
His signing will be the ninth for the club in the off season after signing Samuel Kyere, Richard Osei Agyemang and Bennet Ofori from Chelsea, Edwin Tuffour Frimpong from Liberty and Evans Quao from Medeama.
The others are Theophilus Nyame, Ernest Sowah and Halipha Sedogo.
This will represent a major overhaul for David Duncan’s side as seasoned campaigners such as Abeiku Ainooson, Jordan Opoku , Richard Mpong and Michael Akuffo all departed the club in the offseason.
