The Football Association’s disciplinary committee has announced further sanctions on Asante Kotoko for disrespecting Vice President John Mahama when the team boycotted medal presentation at last month’s President Cup match in Accra.
After weeks of deliberations, the Disciplinary Committee concluded that Kotoko’s action on the day breached the spirit of fair play and therefore must be punished.
For his conduct on the day and his technical team members, Coach Bogdan Korak has been handed a three match ban and therefore will not be on the bench for the Porcupine Warriors in three local matches. The Serbian has to pay a fine of GHS1,500.
Eight members of his technical team will each pay GHS1,000 in fines for instigating the boycott.
The 18 players for the game will each pay GHS500 and Asante Kotoko as a club will pay a fine of GHS20,000.
Kotoko is getting ready for a trip to Serbia this weekend for a preseason.
Nana Kwame Dankwa, a member of the club’s communication team has revealed to JOY Sports Kotoko is preparing an appeal against the sanctions.
