Reproduction fertility treatment in Kumasi on Thursday chalked a milestone with the delivery of the first triplets through In vitro fertilization.

The babies, two of whom are identical twins were delivered at the Peace Land Fertility Clinic.

Assisted reproduction services have been available in Ghana since the early 90s, but couples have had to travel to Tema in Accra, to access such service.

Some facilities in Kumasi have however been offering treatment in the past few years. This is the first time triplets have been delivered in the Garden City.

Dr Rudolp Kantum Adageba of Peace Land Fertility Clinic explained to Luv News the parents of the couple could not conceive through natural means due to some medical conditions.

Gametes were taken from both parents and fertilized after which it was implanted into the woman.

Two embryos were implanted, however one divided to produce identical female twins, whiles the other grew into a bouncy baby boy.

According to him the babies were in excellent condition.

The excited mother told Luv News the triplets have brought an end to her seven year struggle for a baby.
