Residents of twin communities of Awomaso and Apromase in Kumasi are in shock over the death of three people in bizarre circumstances over the weekend.
Less than 48 hours after a taxi driver stabbed his girl-friend to death, and later committed suicide on Friday, a young man killed a colleague in similar fashion on Sunday.
Twenty-seven year old taxi driver identified only as Kwasi killed Juliana Asiedu after she threatened to quit their relationship.
He went into hiding and later found hanging dead in his room as police and volunteer residents pursued him.
Before talk on the incident could die down, 24 year old unidentified man was stabbed in a scuffle at a beer bar on Sunday.
Police have arrested 28-year old Paa Yaw in connection with the second incident.
Residents are reluctant to speak to strangers apparently for fear of being incriminated as police begin investigations.
However, a few who spoke to Nhyira News on condition of anonymity say the murder suspect who is in police grips has been terrorizing many residents, including his own mother in the community.
They want police to allow the law to take its course in the matter.
Meanwhile, police in KNUST have confirmed the two tragedies as they intensify their investigation.
The bodies of the three have been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Mortuary for autopsy.
