Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abudul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr. says his “conscience, conviction and commitment” will not allow him to vote for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in any election.
According to him, the decision is based on principle, and devoid of any relationship he might have with the ruling party’s flagbearer.
“It is a matter of principle and there is a reason why I don’t vote and will never vote NDC; not even if my mother contests," he told Accra based radio station Peace FM.
Mr. Baako, who is a known member of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) revealed that he has been voting 'skirt and blouse' -that is, voting for an NPP presidential candidate and CPP parliamentary candidate.
“I’m not a member of the NPP but everybody knows my choice as far as the presidential ticket is concerned. In 2000 and 2004 elections I voted for ex-president Kufuor, Akufo-Addo in 2008 and 2012”.
Though voting is done by secret ballot, Kwaku Baako disclosed that he will vote for Nana Akufo-Addo in 2016.
“In 2016, I will vote Nana; it is non-negotiable” he declared.
